Mongolia International University (MIU) is a global university, a 100 percent foreign juridical foundation endorsed by the Mongolian government and was established in year 2002. MIU prepares global leaders for the new millennium, as well as further educating the current leadership. Our international campus serves not only Mongolian students, but also international students from abroad such countries as Russia, China, S. Korea and etc.

    UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS


    1)International Business Management
    IM major are instructed to handle dynamic business decision-making problems in an era of globalization and information revolution. The IM curricula additionally emphasize business communication and management skills, global marketing, trade and economics. Delving into many domestic and foreign business case analyses helps to deepen students' understanding of business practices. By the time of graduation, students will have developed a competitive edge in the selected area of their global market.


    2) Information Technology
    IT major students will train to be future leaders in technologies and equipments in Mongolia and Central Asia. With strong support from industry-savvy faculty, IT students have opportunities to acquire core knowledge in programming languages, web programming, networking, and data management, as well as basic knowledge in mathematics, digital logic, and computer architecture. These programs enable students to gain hands-on experience in real-world environments and emaster cutting-edge technology in IT even after graduation


    3) Biotechnology and Food Science
    BT provides instructions in both the basic subjects of life sciences and their applied areas, such as Biomedical Science, Agricultural Biotechnology, and Food Science. These courses will equip students with a sound understanding of life and nature, based on a holistic and appreciative viewpoint. Students will also learn practical skills for future research within their respective fields and gain essential knowledge for solving global issues related to disease, the environment, agricultural production, and food supply.


    4) English Education
    Students in the English Education Department are given the training and tools they will need to serve as tomorrows language education professionals. The Department offers broad but essential courses in language learning and teaching, as well as other areas of study of languages and culture. After learning the basic language skills of listening, speaking, writing, and reading, students are encouraged to broaden their views by studying subjects, such as linguistics, teaching methodologies, literature, and cultural studies.


    5) Fashion Design

    The FD Departments vision is to develop and train students to become fashion designers and manufacturers who will make an impact on the fashion industry in Mongolia and other countries. The design courses emphasize the principles and aspects of creative and innovative design, drawings and illustration techniques of design communication.

    DOMESTIC ADMISSION PROCEDURE


    1.Application: From June 21 to July 2 - in MIU (Room D201)
      - Required documents to apply
        1) Completed admission application form
        2) Certificate of High school graduation(or a proof of a relevant education level)
        3) Official high school records and copies
        4) National entrance examination certificate and copies
        5) National Identification (passport) and copies
        6) 4 photos (3x4)
        7) Statement of Purpose (SOP) in English
        8) One recommendation letter in English
          from a high school teacher or an organization head
        9) Application fee: 10,000 tugrugs
      * Download forms for SOP and recommendation letters from
         the MIU website: http://www.miu.edu.mn
      * National Exam subjects for each department
         -each score must be higher than 60%

    2.Essay writing exam and interview: July 6 - at MIU
       - Essay writing exam: 10:00 ~ 11:00 AM
       - English interview: 1:00 PM

    3.Acceptance results will be posted on July 13 - please check MIU website
       - Accepted applicants must visit MIU and get the ADMISSIONS CERTIFICATE
         between July 13 ~ 16
       * Note: Admissions will be canceled for those who fail to pick up their
         ADMISSIONS CERTIFICATE during the above dates

    4.Additional acceptance results from the waiting list will be posted on July 20

    5.Payment of tuition fee and registration must be done between August 16-27
       - Freshmen may only register for courses after paying the tuition fee during the
         above-mentioned dates

    6.Lectures will begin on August 30.

    INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION PROCEDURE


    1.Application: from June 21 to July 2
      - Required documents to apply
       1) Completed admission application form attached with a photo
       2) Certificate of High school graduation (or a proof of a relevant education level)
       3) Official high school transcripts
       4) Copy of valid passport
       5) HIV/AIDS test result
       6) Statement of Purpose (SOP) in English
       7) One recommendation letter in English from a high school teacher or the
           organization head
       8) Application fee: $30

    * All applications must be submitted by e-amil to admission@miu.edu.mn
       until July 2
    * Sending documents by post mail is not recommended, howevershould this
       method be used, all documents must arrive at MIU by July 2

    2.Essay writing exam and interview: July 6
       - The writing exam may be waived by MIU in the event that no supervisor is
          found in the applicants region
       - Applicants must conduct a telephone-interview with MIU examination proctors

    3.Acceptance results will be posted on July 13 - please check MIU website

    4.Additional acceptance results from the waiting list will be posted on July 20

    5.Payment of tuition fee and registration must be done between August 16-27
       - Note: An invitation letter from the Immigration Office of Mongolia will be sent
         to the Mongolian Embassy in your home countries the student visa to be
         issued to enter Mongolia. Please wait for this process before entering Mongolia
       - Freshmen may only register for courses after paying the tuition fee between
         Augst 16-27
    6.Lectures will begin on August 30.

    For applicants with insufficient or limited skils in English


    MIU recommends applicants with insufficient English skills to enter the Foundation Course (FC) prior to entering MIU. FC is a an English language program of LEI, Language Education Institute, in MIU that trains students for one or two semesters in English grammar, writing, reading, and speaking. Many students are successful at entering MIU after studying at LEI in their respecitve levels.
