Established in 2002, Mongolia International University (MIU) is a great community of learning, committed to diversity in its student body, faculty, and staff. MIU has eight major undergraduate courses in the areas of International Business Management, International Trade, E-Business, Information Technology, Energy Resource and Environment Technology, Biotechnology and Food Science, English Education, Fashion Design, and one graduate course in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
Moreover, MIUs diverse language institutes provide a unique blend of culture, learning, and experience. The Language Education Institute (LEI) and the Mongolian Language and Culture Center (MLCC) help students further prepare for a competitive edge in English and Mongolian.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
1) International Business Management (IM)
IM major students are instructed to handle dynamic business decision-making problems in an era of globalization and information revolution. The IM curricula additionally emphasize business communication and management skills, global marketing, trade and economics. Delving into many domestic and foreign business case analyses helps to deepen students' understanding of business practices. By the time of graduation, students will have developed a competitive edge in the selected area of their global market.

2) International Trade (ITR)
ITR major will focus on the practical aspects of international trade and prepare students to decipher various issues in a complex global market. Students will learn how to make effective contracts in international trade, develop negotiation skills using win-win strategy, and understand regulations that govern international trade such as U.C.C. (Uniform Commercial Code of the United States). ITR will encourage students to engage in real life experiences during their course of study and become competent for careers with global corporations.

3) E-Business (EB)
Electronic Business, in many developed countries, has become a widely used method to conduct a companys online business transaction such as marketing, logistics management, etc., in order to sell, purchase, and deliver products. The curriculum for this course incorporates technical and managerial topics, emphasizing specifically on e-business. Students enrolled in this department will learn e-marketing, e-business logistics management, e-security, EB issues, and accounting. Upon graduation, students will be equipped to work in any company or start their own e-business.

4) Information Technology (IT)
IT major students will train to be future leaders in technologies and equipments in Mongolia and Central Asian countries. With strong support from industry-savvy faculty, IT students have opportunities to acquire core knowledge in programming languages, digital media, networking, and data management as well as well as basic knowledge in mathematics, digital logic, and computer architecture. These programs enable students to easily master cutting-edge technology in the rapidly changing IT fields even after graduation.

5) Energy Resource and Environment Technology (ET)
The ET major is one of the most needed majors in Mongolia. Students will be equipped as leaders of management of energy and natural resources. Students will learn how to manage natural resources, how to increase the value through processing, and how to use the resources environment friendly. The world shows interest in Mongolian natural resources and MIU has faced many issues with respect to environmental matters. Upon graduation, students will work for mining companies, government institutes, foreign invested companies, or Non-government organizations.

6) Biotechnology and Food Science (BT)
BT provides instructions in both the basic subjects of life sciences and their applied areas, such as Biomedical Science, Agricultural Biotechnology, and Food Science. These courses will equip students with a sound understanding of life and nature, based on a holistic and appreciative viewpoint. Students will also learn practical skills for future research within their respective fields, as well as essential knowledge for solving global issues related to disease, the environment, agricultural production, and food supply.

7) English Education (EE)
Students in the English Education Department are given the training and tools they will need to serve as tomorrows language education professionals. The Department offers broad but essential courses in language learning and language teaching, as well as other areas of study of languages and culture. After learning the basic language skills of listening, speaking, writing, and reading, students are encouraged to broaden their views by studying subjects, such as linguistics, teaching methodologies, literature, and cultural studies.

8) Fashion Design (FD)
The FD Departments vision is to develop and train students to become fashion designers and manufacturers who will make an impact on the fashion industry in Mongolia and other countries. Design courses focus on the principles and aspects of creative and innovative design, drawings and illustration techniques of design communication.

GRADUATE COURSES
TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
TESOL Masters is a one-year course emphasizing the different approaches to Language and Culture, English as a Second Language (ESL), English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Language in Social Contexts, Second Language Acquisition, and more. Students, whose primary language is not English, are prepared through these courses to teach those in elementary and secondary schools, as well as colleges.
Truman Graduate School of Public Administration
Mongolia International University and the University of Missouri have partnered to provide a 1+1 graduate school program in public affairs. Through this program, students will have opportunities to study both in Mongolia and the U.S., developing international knowledge of public administration. Graduate students of the Truman Graduate School of Public Administration will spend their first two semesters at MIU acquiring foundational knowledge of public administration and policy decision making. Then students will spend three semesters at the University of Missouri to pursue in-depth studies in public affairs. Through this program, MIU seeks to raise honest and competent government leaders who can impact Mongolia and the surrounding regions.
Foundation Course (FC LEI)
The Foundation Course in the Language Education Institute (LEI) is a one-year foundation course that provides diverse language-related programs. LEI, with 150 students from over 12 countries and ethnic groups enrolled as students, provides one of the highest quality English language experience in Mongolia.
LEIs goal is to provide comprehensive lessons, tests, and resources that will higher standards in the classrooms and help students become proficient in the English language and culture. The academic contents emphasize integrative practice in four major areas to enhance communicative competence, and reasoning important concepts, ideas, and issues at each class level. Concurrent focus on reading skills, synthesis of writing, and development of spoken fluency is also practiced for both classroom and non-classroom settings.
SCHOOL ADMISSIONS
MIU provides the most valuable undergraduate and graduate education in English, enrolling multi-faced students who will challenge the depth and the breadth of this community. DOMESTIC ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1. Application: From July 1 to July 5 - at MIU (Room D107)
- Required documents to apply
1) Completed admission application form
2) Certificate of High school graduation(or a proof of a relevant education level)
3) Official high school records and its copy
4) National entrance examination certificate and its copy
5) National Identification (passport) and its copy
6) Four 3x4 photos
7) Statement of Purpose (SOP) in English
8) Application fee: 10,000 tugrugs

- The score of each subject for evaluation must be higher than 60%.

* Sending documents by post mail is not recommended, howevershould this
method be used, all documents must arrive at MIU by July 2

- The writing exam may be waived by MIU in the event that no supervisor is
found in the applicants region
- Applicants must conduct a telephone-interview with MIU examination proctors

- Note: An invitation letter from the Immigration Office of Mongolia will be sent

For applicants with insufficient or limited skils in English
MIU recommends applicants with insufficient English skills to enter the Foundation Course (FC) prior to entering MIU. FC is a an English language program of LEI, Language Education Institute, in MIU that trains students for one or two semesters in English grammar, writing, reading, and speaking. Many students are successful at entering MIU after studying at LEI in their respecitve levels.
