MIU strives to be a leading research-oriented university in Central Asia. It seeks to achieve the highest levels of knowledge and understanding through constant research developments in the areas of appropriate technology, resource and energy, environment conservation, and food science. The purpose of the Research Development Affairs is to support the research activity of staff members as well as students; it develops the conditions for further research in various fields of study, so that MIU can be upgraded into a research-oriented University and a 21st Century global leader-training University.

Art Research Center (ARC)
The Art Research Center (ARC) is dedicated to providing quality education in arts and crafts. Key initiatives include:

- •Training teachers to incorporate art skills into curriculam
- •Developing textbooks and educational materials for art programs
Genghis Khan Leadership Center
As globalization continues to shape the 21st century, leadership becomes an increasingly important focus. The Genghis Khan Leadership Center aims to:
- •Promote research on effective leadership models for today’s globalized world
- •Propose strategies and ideas to develop impactful leadership skills across diverse sectors

“Guests from Kyungpook National University visited MIU University.”
On July 18, 2025, guests from Kyungpook National University of the Republic of Korea visited MIU University. President of Kyungpook National University, Dr.Youngwoo Heo, and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ansu Lee, came to MIU to tour the institution and discuss future collaboration with MIU’s President, Oh Moon Kwon.
